Roomie Invite Program Terms and Conditions

Overview

For a limited time, Roomie users can invite friends to join the platform and earn bonus coins when they successfully sign up using your invite code.

How the Promotion Works

  • This is a limited-time offer available where Roomie is currently supported.
  • You'll find your invite codes in the Profile → Invite section of the app.
  • Share your unique invite code (format: XXXX-XXXX) with friends.
  • When an invited friend creates a Roomie account using your code, you both receive 100 coins.
  • Each user starts with 2 invite codes. Additional invites may be granted at Roomie's discretion based on account activity and standing.
  • Coins will usually appear in both accounts shortly after your friend successfully joins using your invite code. In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours for coins to be credited.
  • Invited friends receive immediate access to Roomie, bypassing the waitlist.

Who Can I Invite?

You can invite friends who:

  • Are located in a country where Roomie is currently available.
  • Are at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in their jurisdiction).
  • Are able to create a new Roomie account.
  • Have not previously created a Roomie account.

Important: Friends must join using your invite code during the account creation process for you to receive coins. Retroactive applications of invite codes are not permitted.

Terms and Conditions

By participating in this promotion, you agree to the following:

1. Limited-Time Promotion

  • The invite program is available only for a limited time.
  • Roomie may modify, pause, or end the promotion at any time without prior notice.
  • Roomie may change the coin reward amount, invite limits, or other program parameters at its sole discretion.

2. Availability and Eligibility

  • The offer is valid only in countries/regions where Roomie is currently available.
  • You and your invited friends must meet all standard eligibility requirements for using Roomie, including:
    • Meeting minimum age requirements (13+ or as required by local law)
    • Agreeing to Roomie's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
    • Not being previously banned or suspended from Roomie
  • Roomie may restrict participation or eligibility to certain users or regions at its discretion.
  • Roomie employees, contractors, and their immediate family members are not eligible for referral rewards.

3. Coin Rewards

  • You'll receive 100 coins per eligible friend who joins using your invite code.
  • Your friend will also receive 100 coins upon successfully creating their account with your code.
  • The number of invite codes you have available is shown in the app and may increase over time based on your account standing.
  • Coins are:
    • Non-transferable between users
    • Have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money or refunds
    • Subject to Roomie's standard currency terms
    • May be subject to expiration as displayed in the app or your account settings
  • Roomie reserves the right to revoke coins obtained through violation of these terms.

4. Valid Referrals Only

To count as a valid referral:

  • Your friend must be a new user who has never previously created a Roomie account.
  • Your friend must enter your invite code during the account creation process.
  • Your friend must successfully complete account setup and verify their email address (if required).
  • Your friend's account must remain in good standing (not banned or flagged for abuse).

Invalid referrals include:

  • Self-referrals (inviting yourself)
  • Inviting someone who already has or had a Roomie account
  • Accounts created solely to farm rewards
  • Accounts that are subsequently banned or suspended

5. No Spam, Abuse, or Fraud

This offer is void where prohibited and void in cases of spam, abuse, or fraud. Prohibited activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Creating multiple accounts for yourself or facilitating multiple accounts for the same person
  • Posting your invite code in ways that violate Roomie's Community Guidelines, Terms of Service, or applicable law
  • Using bots, automated systems, scripts, or other artificial means to generate sign-ups
  • Engaging in invite code trading, selling, or exchanging
  • Mass-posting invite codes as spam on social media, forums, or other platforms
  • Creating fake accounts to claim referral rewards
  • Using misleading, deceptive, or manipulative tactics to generate sign-ups
  • Circumventing invite limits through technical exploits
  • Any other behavior that Roomie reasonably determines to be abusive, manipulative, or contrary to the spirit of the program

Consequences of Violation:

Roomie may, at its sole discretion and without prior notice:

  • Withhold or revoke coins from your account
  • Reverse previously granted coins
  • Reduce or eliminate your available invite codes
  • Place restrictions on your account
  • Suspend or terminate your access to Roomie
  • Suspend or terminate the accounts of users who joined through invalid referrals
  • Take legal action in cases of fraud or Terms of Service violations

6. Waitlist Priority

  • Users who join with a valid invite code receive immediate access to Roomie, bypassing the standard waitlist.
  • Users who sign up without an invite code are placed on a waitlist and will be activated as capacity allows.
  • Waitlist position and activation timing are not guaranteed and are subject to change.

7. Changes to the Promotion

Roomie reserves the right to:

  • Update, modify, suspend, or terminate this promotion at any time
  • Change coin reward amounts, invite limits, or eligibility criteria
  • Add additional terms or requirements
  • Make changes effective immediately or with notice as Roomie determines appropriate

Any changes may be reflected in the app, on this page, or in updated terms. Continued participation in the program after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

8. Disputes and Interpretation

  • All decisions regarding eligibility, valid referrals, and violations of these terms are made by Roomie in its sole discretion and are final.
  • Roomie is not responsible for:
    • Technical issues that prevent coins from being awarded
    • Delays in coin delivery
    • Invited friends who do not complete account setup
    • Changes to your invite code availability
  • In the event of any dispute, Roomie's records will be deemed authoritative.

9. General Terms

  • This promotion is subject to Roomie's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
  • Coins earned through this promotion are subject to Roomie's standard currency terms and conditions.
  • This promotion has no cash value and cannot be combined with other offers unless explicitly stated.
  • Void where prohibited by law.
  • If there is any conflict between this page and the in-app terms displayed in the invite screen, the in-app terms will control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do my referral coins expire?

Promotional coins may be subject to expiration. Check your account settings or the in-app coin balance for expiration dates. If no expiration is shown, coins remain valid indefinitely but are subject to Roomie's standard currency terms.

How many friends can I invite?

You start with 2 invite codes. You can invite as many friends as you have available codes. Additional invite codes may be granted over time based on your account activity, standing, and at Roomie's discretion. Check your Profile → Invite section to see your current available invites.

Can I get more invite codes?

Roomie may grant additional invite codes to users in good standing. There is no guaranteed method to earn more codes, but active, positive participation in the community may be considered. Invite codes may also be granted during special promotions or events.

Why didn't I receive coins for inviting a friend?

Common reasons include:

  • Your friend is in a country where Roomie isn't yet available
  • Your friend didn't enter your invite code during account creation
  • Your friend already had a Roomie account (even if deleted)
  • Your friend's email wasn't verified or account setup wasn't completed
  • You've used all your available invite codes
  • We detected or suspect activity that violates these terms (e.g., duplicate accounts, self-referrals, fraud)
  • Technical delay: coins may take up to 24 hours to appear

If none of the above applies and the promotion is still active, please contact support.

What if my friend signed up but didn't use my code?

Invite codes must be entered during the account creation process. Codes cannot be applied retroactively to existing accounts. Your friend would need to create a new account with your code to qualify.

Can I use someone else's invite code if I already have an account?

No. Invite codes are only for new users creating their first Roomie account. Existing users cannot apply invite codes to their accounts.

What happens if I violate the terms?

Violations may result in:

  • Loss of referral coins (both awarded and pending)
  • Removal of invite code privileges
  • Account restrictions or suspension
  • In severe cases, permanent account termination

Roomie investigates suspicious activity and takes appropriate action to maintain program integrity.

Can I appeal if my coins are revoked?

If you believe your coins were revoked in error, you may contact Roomie support with details. However, all decisions regarding violations are made at Roomie's sole discretion and are generally final.

Where can I find my invite code?

Navigate to Profile → Invite in the app. Your personal invite code(s) will be displayed there, along with how many invites you have remaining.
